OPEN DOOR CHRISTIAN HOMES

Our program focuses on growing a man spiritually while addressing the specifics of addiction.

MISSION STATEMENT AND PHILOSOPHY

"I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it; for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

Open Door Christian Homes, Inc. is designed for men ages 18+ who are tired of their addictions and are ready to learn a new, Christ-based way of life. We believe Jesus Christ is the power behind the change, and have a program based on the Word of God and the twelve steps. We also have recreational activities including softball and have two ponds for fishing on the facility. Our philosophy is based on the spiritual growth of the residents and the need for change in the lives of our residents. We believe in the principles of Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-based 12-step program. We will aid in the discipleship of the individual, while also aiding in the obtaining of GED or other educational training. We will also aid individuals in finding jobs in the local area. We believe in treating the whole individual, not only the addiction. Our goal is to do the work of Christ, creating whole individuals who will have a strong foundation with Christ as the cornerstone, on which to build their lives

" Revelation 3:8

PROGRAM SUMMARY

The Open Door Christian Homes, Inc. residential program, for addicted males over 18 years of age, lasting a minimum of six months, is designed in four phases: Beginner, Intermediate, and Graduate levels. Residents progress at their own pace, earning their way to the next higher level by meeting certain specific goals. Close, personal guidance is given each step of the way. At the core of our program is spiritual development through participation in Christian activities.

The Open Door Christian Homes, Inc. program focuses on growing a man spiritually while addressing the specifics of addiction. We seek a man to grow in his relationship to God while gaining successful employment and working a recovery program. We believe in the 12-steps of recovery and also believe that Jesus Christ is the power behind the 12-Steps. We seek to work with many facets of a man’s life, in a goal of showing the man a new, Christian, sober way of life that really works.

PENFIELD CHRISTIAN HOME

Open Door Christian Homes, Inc. is a member in good standing of the Penfield Christian Home, Union Point, Georgia, and joyfully adheres to its advocacy of growth through Jesus Christ. (See attached brochure.)

Open Door Christian Homes, Inc. has a special relationship with Penfield. We refer clients to them as the "in-patient treatment program of choice" and they refer their clients to us as the "recovery residence of choice." Our relationship with Penfield and referred clients is so successful (an unusually high recovery rate) that we have a verbal commitment for their clients to be considered first ahead of all other referral sources when we have a vacancy.

PROGRAM RATIONALE

We believe that drugs are a symptom of a man’s underlying life problems. We address all areas of a man’s life, treating the drug use as a symptom not the cause. Our primary goal is for a man to grow spiritually, therefore freeing him from the grip of drugs and alcohol. We also address the practical issues of a man’s life, knowing for a recovery to be successful, one must address the legal, vocational, and other problems founded in addiction. We want our residents to have a full, complete life with purpose and direction, so that the thought of returning to the addiction is not an alternative.
